The heli is a dream to fly now the vibrations are gone.  I will be able to start trim the controls and getting it to fly nice and smoothly.

I think there could be a small bit of drift, but not overly sure, as I was flying with a left to right cross wind and the tail kept going with the wind - like a weathervane effect.

Im not sure if it is a gyro setup issue.  Is it because I need to go through the setup in rate mode, then move over to heading hold?  Testing will tell me I giess.

I was itching to get a flight in today to see if I had gotten rid of the vibrations that the heli had.

Well, I definately have :)

The heli spooled up smoother than it has in quite a few flights.  The "mega tail shake", canopy wobble and landing skid bluriness has all but disappeared.  Even the tail twitch has gone.

The blade tracking is out again, but given the troubleshooting I have performed to try and get rid of this vibration, Im not surprised..

I only flew for 4minutes...

Well, we have the state titles on for the RC Cars, and I decided to take my heli's with me to get a flight in as I was staying the night at the track performing security duties.

The flights went well, although I lost a tail brace support screw in the second flight.  The blades are balanced, and tracking really well, but there is still a terrible vibration that is literally shaking the heli apart.

Performed basic hovering, with some piros and some forward flight.

Wind was strong,...

It was a really nice morning for an early fly.  There was just the hint of breeze.

I did some basic hovering - tail, left and right side in with a small amount of forward flight and some mini oval circuits.

At one point, the heli nearly got away from me.  It picked up a lot of speed very quickly in forward flight which took me by surprise, but I managed to pull back the reins and settle myself (and the heli) down.

Was good to get a few flights in over the weekend.

I thought I would get another flight in on the Mini-Titan.

The wind was probably a little strong, but I stuck it out.

Spent the first part of the pack just hovering, controlling the heli in the wind.
The second part of the pack I played with the sub trim on the rudder to try and stop the drift.

Flight #107 lasted 6mins.  Battery #5 took 66:16 minutes to charge and took 1771ma

This was more a test flight to see if the clicking noise came back.  At this stage it didn't, but I am wondering if it is the tape that I have used to balance the main blades, as this has started to come off and shred.  If the main blades aren't properly balanced, then this may also be the cause of the vibration.

I also re-did all the fuel line after buying some irrigation T-pieces and hose repair plugs, as I was  also wondering if the clicking was due to the filter hitting the frame, but now all that is firmly held down with cable ties and a filter holder.

Finally another flight on the Mini-Titan.  Was nice to fly it again after what seems like such a long absence.

The flight was mainly just hovering, but I also practiced the 45degree landings that form part of the bronze wing exam.  I didn't go to the full 10m height, but still practice all the same.

I even tried my hand at slow circuits just to see how i would go with them.

Flight #106 lasted 6mins.  Battery #4 took 64:53 minutes to charge and used 1743ma

Similar to last flight.  Took off, with no clicking sound, then the clicking started again.  I tried different things to see if I could work out what it was that was making the noise.  I tried with and without the canopy, landed and checked everything over, but I am still unable to find anything wrong.

Oh well, was another flight up.

Flight #8 lasted 8mins.  What was surprising was the flight only used about 7/8ths of the tank of fuel.  The engine temp was warm to hot, so I reckon the...

Another nice flight, although had a few small hassles.

A clicking sound developed that would then send the tail fin crazy, vibrating like mad.  What was annoying is that the heli would fly beautifully for a minute or so, then the clicking and vibration would kick in.

After the flight, I checked over the heli, and other than the tail belt being a tad loose I wasn't able to find anything wrong, so I tightened the belt.  Will see how the next flight goes.

I lengthened the "long"...
