Another 2 flights today down at SARCH.  Weather was intermittent rain with blustery winds, but wasn't overly bad.

The flight times were 8 and 4 minutes respectively.  I kept the second flight short so as to not over stress my new battery.  There was nothing exciting with either flight.  I was trying to control a tail drift (not much fun) as well as figthing the wind.  My main goal was to try and keep the heli at a constant height.  The heli is very twitchy with pitch control, so not sure if...

I could actually class this as a blog entry for about 5 flights, 4 flights with my old (and definately dead) parkzone packs, and 1 flight with my new Dualsky pack

The parkzone packs are lucky to make 2 minutes flight time now, with the last parkzone battery flight lasting only 30seconds before the LVC kicked in.  This was after doing a 2minute flight with this pack, then discharging each cell down to 3.2v then charging it as per normal with my balancer.

So even though I have technically...

Managed 3 flights today down at SARCH.  Was annoyed though, cos batteries #2 and #3 both only lasted about 2 minutes each before the low voltage cutout kicked in.

With the first flight (#81), about all I got a chance to do was to realise that I had accidentally reversed the rudder channel in the radio when I was re-setting up with the new servos, so I had to change that, and then took off into a hover and managed a slight amount of trimming before the LVC kicked in.

Flight #82 was again, just a small amount of trimming before the lvc kicked in.

Woohoo... Flight #80  LOL

I was itching to get at least a flight in, and since it was too windy down at the field I had virtually given up hope of flying to day.  Thankfully the wind died down at home and I was able to get a flight in.

Im not sure how long the flight lasted, as i forgot to start the timer, but given the amount of charge i put into the battery, it must...

Another nice evening, so I thought I would get another flight in.

It was my new DualSky battery, and man does this thing pack some punch.

I was going well until i decided to increase the head speed by switching to idle up.  I had forgotten that i had also reduced the expo in idle-up, so the heli was a lot more twitchy.  Well she got away from me, and even though i managed to switch back to normal mode, i was still unable to get her back into a hover and ended up heading straight for...

I wasn't sure of the settings i had set for the speed controller, so i thought I would redo them. I have also made changes to the TX.

There is an error in most of the manuals for the Ace-RC Brushless speed controller manual.  It shows 2 settings for Helicopter mode without governor.  The second flying mode (5-2 beeps) is actually the mode with governor and the third mode (5-3 beeps) is without governor.

Here are the Speed controller settings:

Finally got home early enough to be able to get a couple of flights in.  Wonderful conditions... barely a breath of wind, nice and clear. Was superb.

I was a bit dissappointed with the flight times, barely managing 5 1/2 mins, just more proof that the parkzone lipo's are dieing.  Now the dilema of which batteries I will replace them with.  The Zippy's seem to be getting rave reviews, but I have also heard (and read) good reports on the Outrage packs as well.

They may still be ok as...
