Another great flight.

Similar to the last flight, i was taking off from under my back verandah, and moving out into the back yard and then flying back under the verandah.  I was doing this until the blades started getting really loud.  A "clacking" sound (similar to when a magpie swoops)  I brought her back under the verandah and landed.  Spooling down, i was going to check to see if all was ok.  it was then that i heard the rain on the roof...  It must have been rain hitting the blades that was making the noise.

Another 2 successful flights.  Basically more hovering and moving around my back yard.  i got 5:30mins and 8mins from the two packs.  Not sure why the big differences between the flight times. on the second flight, I put a piece of wood down on the ground to take-off and land on.  The piece of wood was only just longer than the heli, so provided a nice little challenge.

The backyard is a little more confined than the front yard, and i was experiencing quite a bit of turbulence.  I was actually...

And yet another good flight. Not sure how long the flight was, as i again forgot to start the timer.

I decided to try something a bit different.  I "walked" the heli around the back yard, and in and around the posts of the pergola and even did some take-offs and landings on the grass.  They were a bit scary, but i did them without any problems.

Battery took 1870ma to charge

Another good flight :)

Flight time approx 5mins.  I was able to fly inside a 3x3m square, which is to me an achievement.  My confidence is getting better, and im just trying to take little steps at a time.

I will be going to Modelflight this week to get the headblock and washout base.  Hopefully they have them in stock

Battery took 850ma to charge, which was strange.  Should have been more than that

Woohoo.... my second full flight without training gear

I have noticed some play in the head block that allows the head to rock back and forth.  Its not too bad at this stage, but i will look at getting the alloy head block (PV0801) and washout base (PV0808) (about AUD$48 total from Modelflight).

Woohoo   Flight #25 (and #26) Flight #25 was a funny one.  I knew all my batteries were charged, but after about 30seconds, the motor rpms would start fluctuating - indicating low battery voltage.  I decided to reset the ESC setting to the following:

Battery Protection: Heavy discharge protection for Lipo Motor Timing:  Auto Brake Mode: Soft Brake Throttle...

mmm I thought i was up to flight 25 LOL oh well. I guess next flight will be #25 Fairly uneventful flight.  Was in the middle of the street up at Peterborough (Where my 4 kids live with their mother... About 250Km's north of Adelaide)  There was a bit of wind around that was making the heli jump around a bit but otherwise it was fairly straightforwards.

I must be getting a...
